Cee’s Black and White Challenge: Letters C or D

Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge this week is designed for subjects that start with the letters C and/or D. Oh, the possibilities!

This is one of my favorite city views, in one of my favorite cities.

You can take an elevator to the top of Coit Tower to get 360 degree views of the City by the Bay. If you face West (as in the photo directly above), you are greeted by views of North Beach (Little Italy) and the Golden Gate Bridge. Face South (as in the very top photo) and see the Embarcadero, Financial District, and the Bay Bridge.

Each trip I take to San Francisco involves some routine activities: Philz Coffee, favorite pizza joint, and a SF Giants Game. However, I always manage to stumble upon a new spectacular view of the city — in SF it isn’t difficult.

San Diego: June Gloom Edition

In June I packed my bags and flew across the country to San Diego, California, with high hopes for a weekend filled with sunshine and warmth. Reality did not meet my high expectations. Don’t let the blue sky in the first photos fool you. That was a “white whale” moment. The hospitality and unique neighborhood identities made up for it.
